6 - SEARCHING THE CATALOGUE

quick search

You can perform a quick keyword search of titles, authors, subjects, series, periodical titles or general words and phrases.

  1. If you wish to place holds, login to the catalogue with the login form on the website, otherwise click on the catalogue link to access without logging in.

  2. Type your search terms in the Quick Search box.
  3. Click on the drop-down menu and select either words or phrases, author, title, subject, series or periodical title.
  4. Click the Search button.

HOT TIP: The brief results screen only displays the items on shelf at the moment (i.e. available). If the brief results screen shows there are no copies available, click on the details button as all copies may be on loan.

  1. Select Power Search from the Quick Search box in the catalogue.

  2. Click on Browsing in the Catalogue Searches box at the right.

  3. Type your search term in the Browsing Search box.
  4. Select your local library from the drop-down menu labeled library
  5. Click on the desired button for an author, title, subject search etc.
    Eg. Browse Mars in Subject at Boronia Library

    The results will list Mars (Planet) as well as Mars Probes and even Marsupials. Note that you can select the juvenile literature to view the children's books.
