For 7 days: unlimited videos and DVDs (1 renewal)
Items cannot be renewed if they are reserved for another member.
You must bring your library card with you each time you wish to borrow from the library.
overdues
Items returned after the due date will incur overdue charges. The charges are:
- 25c per day for each adult item (up to a maximum of $10)
- 25c per day for each junior & teenage item (up to a maximum of $5)
Unpaid charges on a library card will result in the suspension of borrowing rights. Also, you will be unable to renew or place holds on items through the web catalogue.
overdue Notification
Telephone, paper or email notification
Members will be notified of an overdue item 10 days after the item was due. By default, telephone notification is set up on your membership record. If you wish to receive paper or email notices please contact library staff and confirm your current address or provide your email address.
Please note, the telephone service does not give a list of items, please refer to your library docket. Also, if your email account is full you will not receive the email notice.
If the system was not able to contact you by phone you will receive a paper notice.
Final Overdue and Account
Final overdue notices are posted out 28 days after the item is due. This is always a paper notice. The charge listed is the cost of the book if not returned. If the book is returned you will only be charged the overdue charges.
returns
Eastern Regional Libraries' items may be returned to any Eastern Regional Libraries branch or mobile regardless of where it was borrowed. If an item cannot be returned during opening hours it may be returned via the bookchute. The only exception is with CDs. These may not be returned via the bookchute.
Bookchutes are available at each branch of Eastern Regional Libraries (except Croydon Library) and are open when the library are closed.
renewals
Items may be renewed once; either by phone, through the web catalogue or in person. Items that have been reserved by other members cannot be renewed.
7-day loan items (including videos and DVDs) may now be renewed once.
Tutorial for renewing via the web catalogue
forgotten or lost cards
You cannot borrow without your library card. If you lose your card please notify the library immediately and a stop can be placed on the card to prevent unauthorised borrowing. There is a $3 charge for a replacement card. (GST Inclusive).
change of Address
It is important that the library has an up-to-date record of your current address. You may change your address in person, over the phone or through My Account on the library catalogue. Identification showing the new address must be provided. If you change your address via the phone a stop will be placed on your library card preventing its use until you provide identification confirming the address.
lost Items
Members are responsible for all items borrowed on their card. The replacement cost of any item lost or destroyed is required to be met by the member (or guardian). This includes an item destroyed by fire or stolen. The library can provide a list of outstanding items and their replacement cost as a basis for any insurance claim a member may wish to make.
