The first Ringwood Branch Library was built in Warrandyte Road, Ringwood and opened in May, 1970. The Library moved to the Eastland Shopping Centre in March, 1995  and in October 2013 returned to this the original building while a new Ringwood Library, Learning and Cultural Centre and Town Square is under construction. This is estimated to finish in 2016. 

Ringwood and Knox Libraries were the foundation members of the Eastern Metropolitan Library Service.  and currently has 33,135 members with an average of 30,000 visits per month.

Visitors to the temporary library will have access to the full range of library services including book, magazine, DVD and CD borrowing, computers and WiFi. Activities, including children’s storytimes, will also be on offer at the new location.

The new, state-of-the-art Centre will integrate a library, a learning centre, an art gallery and Council service centre.  Find out more about the new Ringwood Library Learning and Cultural Centre at http://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au/RLLCC.aspx.

Parking, access & facilities

Parking
There is free parking in the carpark at the rear of the library (enter from Pratt Street). There are two accessible parking spaces at the front of the building.

Access
Approach to main entrance: Wheelchair/pram access is excellent. No ramps, no stairs or steps outside of the building. Taxis can drop off or pick up passengers at the door. Ten minute walk from Ringwood station and bus terminal. Two minute walk from bus stop.

Internal access: The library is on one level. Access for wheelchairs and prams is excellent. Catalogues are on high benches.

  • Public toilets: Male/Female/Accessible, baby change (located in the foyer outside the library)
  • Fax service
  • Photocopier: Black&White, Colour
  • Internet: Ten public access Internet PCs (including 1 10-minute PC).

Children

Tinytots
Tiny Tots is a special sharing time for parents and babies aged 0-12 months. Learn fun rhymes and games to play. Discover wonderful stories to share with your child

Toddler Time
Toddler time is especially for children 1-3 years with stories, songs and rhymes. The sessions last for approximately 30 minutes.

Preschool Storytime
Preschool storytime is aimed at children aged 3-5 years. It is a mix of stories, rhymes and a simple activity. Sessions last for approximately 45 minutes.
