WRITING COMPETITIONS

Eastern Regional Libraries are alternating each year between a National Poetry Competition and a National Storywriting Competition.

Presentation Evening
When: Friday 4th December 6:30pm for 7pm
Where: Belgrave Library, Reynolds Lane, Belgrave
The winning entries will be read by New Zealand poet and author Alison Wong, winner of the 2009 Janet Frame Award. Patricia Sykes will present her Judge's Report.

Judge - Patricia Sykes
Patricia Sykes is an award-winning poet, and a librettist. Her first collection of poetry, Wire Dancing, arose out of her experiences as a performer with the Women’s Circus and was shortlisted for the Anne Elder and Mary Gilmore awards

Local Award $500 for residents of Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges
Teenage 1st Prize $300 13-18 years
Junior 1st Prize $200 9-12 years
