Writer, historian and one of the most fascinating speakers you will ever hear, Robyn Annear’s first book Bearbrass: Imagining Early Melbourne (1995) won the A A Philips Prize for Australian Studies in the 1995 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards. Since then she has written several books on such diverse subjects as the Tichborne Case, Whelan the Wrecker and the Eureka Rebellion. Her expertise has been recognized by her election to the Board of the State Library of Victoria, her selection as a judge of the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award and the Age Book of the Year, and even a page on the Tourism Victoria website.
Robyn will talk about her favourite books.
Kevin Rabalais

Born in New Orleans, Kevin Rabalais is now resident in Melbourne, where he is completing his PhD studies. In 2003 and he co-edited a book Novel Voices, interviews with American award winning authors. He has been a regular contributor to The Age, The Australian as well as a number of international publications. His novel the Landscape of Desire is loosely based around the fate of the Burke and Wills expedition, and has been described by David Malouf as "lyrical, precise and mysterious."

Adults and children alike know the name Jackie French. Her children's books include the celebrated Diary of a Wombat, the CBC winner Hitler's Daughter and the much loved Phredde the Phaery series to name but a few. Adults know her through her many books on organic gardening and green cleaning, and for her appearances on Burke's Backyard.
The other half of the conversation is Ann Creber, food consultant, stylist, author, reviewer and popular radio presenter of The Good Life on 3MDR.

Since her debut novel Spin Cycle was released in 2002, Ilsa Evans has gone on to publish five further novels. Drip Dry and Odd Socks continued the 'Laundry Series' to be followed by two stand alone novels Each Way Bet and Flying the Coop. The sixth novel Broken (2007) was a complete breakaway in style from light fiction, to a work that looks at marriage breakdown and its effects on the family. Broken was selected as an Australian Women's Weekly Good Read, and as a 'Summer Read' in the State Library of Victoria's Summer Reading list.
Ilsa has successfully completed her PhD in the area of women's studies, and manages to combine writing with a family and a career in community information and welfare.
Tony Park

Tony Park was born in 1964 and grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney. He has worked as a newspaper reporter in Australia and England, a government press secretary, a public relations consultant, and a freelance writer. He is also a major in the Australian Army Reserve and served six months in Afghanistan in 2002 as the public affairs officer for the Australian ground forces. He and his wife, Nicola, divide their time between their home in Sydney, and southern Africa, where they own a tent and a Series III Land Rover. His latest book is Silent Predator.

the eastern regional library show on easternfm
Eastern Regional Libraries is offering podcasts of The Eastern Regional Library show, broadcast on EasternFM every Wednesday 12:05pm. At present we have only 4 shows available however we hope to increase this soon. We are also looking at videoing author visits and making these available online as a video podcast.
